Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, was represented by his Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Usman Abba Jaye, at the 2025 General Assembly of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council (NTRC) held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
Themed “Strengthening Community Collaboration for Lasting Peace and Security in Northern Nigeria,” the meeting brought together traditional rulers, government officials, and community leaders from across the North to discuss ways to address insecurity and promote unity at the grassroots.
The conference was chaired by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and declared open by Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, with the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, as host.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Shehu of Borno, Etsu Nupe, Mai Bade, Emir of Fika, and the Waziri of Katsina, Senator Ibrahim Ida, who represented the Emir of Katsina, alongside other royal fathers from across the North.
Hon. Usman Abba Jaye described the gathering as timely and impactful, saying it provided an opportunity for traditional rulers and government representatives to strengthen collaboration in tackling security and development challenges.
He reaffirmed that Governor Radda remains committed to working closely with traditional institutions, recognizing their vital role in sustaining peace, unity, and community development across Katsina State and Northern Nigeria.
The 2025 Kebbi General Assembly is expected to produce resolutions aimed at deepening cooperation between traditional leaders and government towards lasting peace in the region.
